Late-night snacks made easy

Displayed in Archie’s Lounge is the brand new, “Byte Machine,” offering fresh food to those who need to satisfy their cravings.

A new solution for athletes and students in need of a quick bite after hours is now up and running.  Tucked into the corner of Archie’s is a little treasure where all late-night snack demands will be answered. The Byte machine is a fridge available 24/7 that contains fresh meals, snacks, and beverages provided by Misericordia Foodservice staff.

Students can check the fridge ahead of time in the comfort of their dorm room via Metzmu.com to find the online menu, as it will conveniently display what is in the fridge in real time. Students can also check the stock of the machine and for new items following a restock. It gets restocked with a wide variety of premade meals or beverages almost daily. Students may be able to find a variety of food and beverage choices in the fridge, often consisting of but not limited to chicken, yogurt parfaits, wraps, and sandwiches of many flavors. They also have a variety of drinks available, such as Vitamin Water, Powerade, Monster, Body Armor, and many more!

The fridge accepts dining dollars, Archie Bucks, and credit cards, and is very simple to use. Students can browse the menu on the screen before they pay, which will show up with the price of each item in addition to the nutritional content. Students, once they’ve found something they want to snack on, need only to swipe their preferred payment in the built-in screen and the fridge will be unlocked. From there, the patron can simply take out what they wished to purchase and close the fridge when they are finished. Once the fridge is closed, students have the option of entering their emails into the screen to receive an e-receipt.

This is a new, innovative option available to all after late night practices and library sessions, during study breaks, or simply for those who are rushing in between classes.
