As the spring semester begins to wind down and students start preparations for finals, Misericordia University faculty and Campus Life have organized various travel opportunities. The beginning of April was filled with trips nearly every weekend.
During the weekend of April 6, students were offered Broadway tickets at low prices to see a performance of a new adaptation of the classic, “The Outsider.” Based on the novel by S.E. Hinton, the newest Broadway hit took the stage in early March 2023 and has grown in popularity ever since.
The show has cultivated an audience based on the generational change it influenced when the story was first introduced, so of course, students from the university were excited to see it live. They packed their bags and headed to The Big Apple for a taste of city living with a riveting performance to end the day.
Just a weekend later, the Misericordia University Honors Program enjoyed a road trip of its own. Philadelphia welcomed the students and faculty and offered them a day admiring artwork and other activities at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
The trip was open to anyone who wanted a day of rest and enjoyment rather than indulging in the gruesome studies that come with wrapping up the school year and allowed for an immersive experience throughout the entire museum. From culturally accurate Japanese teahouses to numerous interpretations of biblical figures throughout the centuries, there was a gallery for just about anyone.
Students are encouraged to check out what Campus Life has to offer for chances to see the world.
