What were your goals going into this season?
Having fun is the most important part of swimming so my number one goal was to enjoy the season with the team. My number two goal was to break the team record in the 50 freestyle.
What is your pre-meet ritual?
I don’t really have one. I just like to make sure I remember my suit.
What has been your most memorable meet from this season?
The meets were all awesome but the most memorable practice was when Coach VanDerMeid almost fell in the pool.
What aspect to your swimming have you seen most improved this season?
My backstroke starts have improved tremendously.
How different is it when rooting on a men’s swimmer and women’s swimmer?
Well, you can yell inappropriate things when guys swim. That’s generally frowned upon with the ladies.
How are you preparing for MAC’s?
I have been eating a lot. I’ve also done quite a few loads of laundry so that I have clean, fluffy towels.
What is your favorite event to swim? Are you swimming it at MAC’s?
100 backstroke. I am not swimming it because we have some wicked fast backstrokers. I settled for the 400 IM instead.
Who is your greatest inspiration behind you and your swimming career?
My brother is the reason I got into swimming so he’ll always be number one. This season, Ray Amato has moved into the number two spot.
