With all the streaming options available, sometimes you just can’t find anything to watch. When that happens, the Bevevino Library can help.
The library has two video resources, Academic Videos Online and Films on Demand, that offer thousands of hours of news, entertainment, and science films, series, and shorts.
Academic Videos Online (AVON) has recently added hundreds of films from Sony Pictures Classics. You will find recent releases such as the Academy Award winning “I’m Still Here,” the biopic “Kneecap” about the Irish hip-hop group of the same name, and “Wicked Little Letters” a dark comedic mystery based on the real-life events in Littlehampton, England.
You will also find cult classics as well, such as “SLC Punk,” “Welcome to the Dollhouse,” “Run Lola Run,” “The Devil’s Backbone,” “Whiplash,” and “Animal Kingdom.”
Films on Demand recently added hundreds of hours of HBO Documentaries to its already extensive offerings of documentaries and news programs. You can watch the recently released film “Pee-Wee as Himself,” a look at the legacy of Ms. Magazine in “Dear Ms.,” and a doc on baseball great Willie Mays in “Say Hey, Willie Mays!”
Films on Demand also offers a helpful feature that can help you expand your learning on the subject of the videos. When you search for film within the resources, it will also run searches in other library resources such as JSTOR, Academic Search Ultimate, and Gale Opposing Viewpoints.
AVON and Films on Demand both offer thousands of hours of programs from PBS. You watch series such as “Secrets of the Dead” and “Finding Your Roots,” and documentaries from Ken Burns, including his recently released “The American Revolution,” “Leonardo Da Vinci,” and “The American Buffalo.”
Both resources can be found on the library’s website by clicking either Databases A-Z or Databases Subject – Streaming Videos.
Happy Viewing.
