President Thomas J. Botzman, Ph.D., recently participated in a special story-time session with pre-school children from the Lake-Lehman Early Learning Center as part of Mercy Week and 90th anniversary celebrations on campus Sept. 21-26 and throughout the academic year.
President Botzman talked to the students while he sat on a chair in the middle of the Catherine Evans McGowan Room of the Mary Kintz Bevevino Library, and had them gather around him while he read, “Time for School, Mouse!,” by Laura Numeroff. Afterward, students, faculty and staff did arts and crafts with the students.
Mercy Week is an annual event that honors the history of Misericordia University and its founders and sponsors, the Religious Sisters of Mercy. For its 90th anniversary this year, the university incorporated additional events into Mercy Week and has scheduled other special programming for the celebration throughout the 2014-15 academic year. A complete schedule of activities can be found at http://misericordia.edu/MUturns90.
