What are your expectations/goals for this season?
Our goal is to get better each and every year. I really like where our team is at right now and I believe we will compete in a lot of matches this year.
How did you approach this season differently?
I didn’t really change anything up. I got back to practice and picked up right where I left off last season. I’m just trying to improve my game each and every day.
How much have you seen yourself develop both mentally and physically in the offseason?
I had a lot of time over the summer to get myself in better shape and I think it’s going to really help me in the long, grueling matches this season.
Do you see the same with the overall team?
I have seen a great improvement overall with the team. Every match we play in practice is very competitive and I am looking forward to see what we can do.
Do you run into any complications when balancing your schoolwork with the soccer schedule?
I’ve been playing multiple sports all my life so I find it easier to balance the work with a sport. There is a lot of time every day and I haven’t had any problems.
Do you feel pressure to repeat the success your team had last season?
I go into every match ready to compete and fight until it’s over but I never feel like there is any pressure on me.
What do you feel your personal strengths on the field are?
I feel like I can compete with any opponent I play. I can cover the court well and try to mix things up to throw my opponent off and get him off his game. I still have a lot of work to do and looking forward to the first match.
If all goes well, how far do you see your team going this season?
I believe our team will be better this season and I don’t want to make any predictions of where we end up. I just want the team to play hard every match and that’s all the coach wants from us.
With only one home game this Fall season, how do you feel that will effect the team?
I don’t feel like it’s a big factor. We don’t have many matches this season but these few matches will help us get ready for MACs.
What is the number one thing you want to walk away with at season’s end?
A MAC singles or doubles championship would be nice but I just want to walk away knowing that we are a much improved team.
