Change is in the air. Leaves are turning bright shades of orange and red, creating dazzling views. Frost covers the morning landscape, and pumpkins are being brought out to the front of homes.

If you are looking for a great way to celebrate the upcoming season, look no further than Brace’s Orchard. Take a scenic drive through the countryside of Dallas, and you will stumble upon Brace’s, a family owned and operated fruit farm only 13 minutes away from campus.

Brace’s orchard has been a local favorite for many years. They have been in business since 1828 and have stood the test of time. When you arrive, you are greeted by friendly staff members who are ready to help.

There are a variety of activities that the public can participate in. On weekends, you can head out to the fields where you are able to pick your own Gala apples. There is also a stunning sunflower field where you and a group of friends can snap some awesome pictures.

Brace’s Orchard also allows visitors to pick three sunflowers of their own, something that can be used to brighten up any living space.

After being out in the fields, you can take a trip inside the barn where they sell fresh, homemade apple cider and cider donuts. Staffers pride themselves on using only the freshest local ingredients in all of their products.

Also in the barn, you may purchase a variety of apples and peaches picked right from the farm.

The orchard also features local artisanal snacks, foods and desserts. Try some homemade apple salsa or choose from their extensive collection of jams and jellies.

Brace’s Orchard is open seven days a week from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. If you find yourself in the mid-term rut and need to get out to enjoy some fresh air, visit Brace’s Orchard. Brace yourself for a good time!
